The Water Inlet Valve Assembly is an OEM part compatible with GE washing machines. It is responsible for regulating the flow of water into the washing machine during designated cycles. The water inlet valve opens and closes to allow water to enter the tub at the correct times and pressures. It works in coordination with other components to fill and drain the tub as needed.
Causes of a bad water inlet valve include corrosion, mineral buildup, or a malfunctioning solenoid or electronic component that controls the opening and closing mechanism.
Symptoms of a bad water inlet valve include:
Inability to fill the tub with water
Slow or delayed filling
Leaks from the water supply area
Intermittent or inconsistent water flow
High water pressure readings
This GE part is also compatible with some Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore models.
