MURDER ON "B" DECK
By Vincent Starrett, pen name of Charles Vincent Emerson Starrett.
Garden City, New York: Published for The Crime Club, Inc., by Doubleday, Doran Company, Inc., 1929.
First edition, first printing.
"First edition" statement to the copyright page, 1929 to the title page.
By the bibliophile, journalist, and prolific author of THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, and his mystery adapted to the1935 film 'The Great Hotel Murder'.
The first of three clue-filled, well-plotted mysteries featuring Walter Ghost, a scientist, psychologist, explorer, and former intelligence officer.
Set on board an ocean liner.
A decent copy with clipped internally saved, striking mystery jacket art.
Rub-wear to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips, minor rubs and soils to the covers, dust jacket panels and flaps neatly cut and pasted to the front and rear end-papers and preliminaries, paper residue left from a former attachment, (now removed), to the inside front cover, very mild small spots to the upper page edges, else about very good, square and sound in black linen, with brick-red titles and the Crime Club's gun-pointing man insignia to the front cover and with brick-red titles to the spine; lacking a dust jacket, except as clipped and attached internally.
