Bio-Chromium
Our Chromium tablets each contain 100 micrograms of chromium in the form of an organic cellular bound chromium yeast, ChromoPrecise. ChromoPrecise does not contain live yeast cells, but a chromium containing protein-rich powder made from yeast cells. Dietary chromium is obtained from wholemeal cereal and grain products (provided soils are not chromium depleted), nuts, seafood and yeast. Little chromium is contained from highly refined foods (e.g. refined sugar, refined flour used in white bread) which are easily lost during cooking or food processing.
Chromium is essential for the metabolism of carbohydrates, fat and protein, helping to maintain healthy blood glucose levels. It is an important component of the chromodulin molecule (formerly glucose tolerance factor), which together with insulin, regulates carbohydrate metabolism and blood glucose balance. Chromium makes the action of insulin more effective and helps the body to remove glucose from the bloodstream.
We recommend 1-2 chromium tablets per day with food, particularly with a high fibre content, or as directed by a physician.
Note: Do not chew the tablet; swallow it whole.
