Original WWII U.S. Army Mermite food container, manufactured by SMCO in 1943 and 1944. This insulated steel carrier includes three internal food inserts, one of which is dated 1963. The outer shell and inserts are all marked, with original stenciling and wear consistent with military field use. A rare piece of wartime logistics history, perfect for collectors of U.S. militaria or WWII gear.
