Item description
The Vintage Marx Tin Litho Wind Up Doughboy Tank from the 1930s is a rare and collectible toy that showcases the craftsmanship and attention to detail of that era. Featuring a classic wind-up mechanism, this toy allows children to recreate battle scenes with a fun and nostalgic twist. With its silver finish and iconic design, this vintage toy is sure to be a prized addition to any collection of vintage and antique toys.
Please be mindful to not overwind, this is a very old toy and meant for collectors. As you can see from the video it works. Refunds for overwinding will not be given.
There is something wrong with the connection to the friction engine. The start/stop switch doesn't work correctly. When wound and on the ground and in the stop position it doesn't move, move the switch to go and it doesn't move. Pick it up and it releases all the energy which should take 20 seconds, in 3. If it functioned as it should I would charge $225, in this state I am only asking $200. Since most collectors will probably only display these, I feel this is fair. If you feel differently make me a reasonable offer.
In the video you can see that it wanted to let loose, but couldn't until I let go, and it actually ran as expected, not super-fast for 3 seconds.
We pride ourselves on packing items well and shipping them quickly. We try to ship at least once a day. We are happy to package items together, just send us a message.
On shipping prices. We enter the dimensions and weight and let the shipping company set the prices. Please do not let the shipping price stop you from making a purchase. If shipping is too high, we WILL work with you and offer a flat rate, just send us a message and ask what we can do.
In an effort to combat porch pirates, on any purchase over $150 we will pay to require a signature upon delivery.
Thank you
