Eve Laur on oppinud 1991-1993 Tallinna Pedagoogikaülikoolis kunstiopetust ja joonestamist. Alates 1996. aastast on ta tolkinud inglise keelest ilukirjandust, teinud koostood kirjastustega Tiritamm, Pegasus, Paikese kirjastus, Rahva Raamat jt. Menukamad tolked on olnud J.R.R. Tolkieni "Sormuste Isanda" triloogia ning Philip Pullmani sarjad "Tema tumedad ained" ja "Pormu raamat".
Kahel korral on Eve Laur saanud Paabeli Torni audiplomi (2004 ja 2017). Autori eelmine romaan "Aloise" margiti 2010. aastal ara Tanapaeva romaanivoistlusel.
