Grey was not in-between ? it was its own full voice. While others reached for color to dazzle, Nevelson turned inward, letting tone and texture do the speaking. She called black ?the most aristocratic color,? and in this poster, that royalty rules with unspoken authority. I fell in love with black; it contained all color. It wasn't a negation of color...
