Item description
This is a rare (HC) Hors Commerce lithograph portrait by surrealist artist Leonor Fini, created in the 1970s. The portrait of a woman focusing oรฑher facial features as the subject matter which showcases her classical style typical of the artist. This limited edition print is on paper and measures 34 inches by 27 inches making it a striking and unique addition to any art collection.
Leonora Fini, called Minsky, Argentinian-French painter, draughtswoman, graphic artist, stage and costume designer, writer and illustrator (1908 Buenos Aires to 1996 Paris), childhood in Trieste, artistically self-taught, 1925-37 active in Milan, here turning to painting and 1929 first exhibition of her works, influenced by Giorgio de Chirico, with whom she had a lifelong friendship, from 1932 stay in Paris and friendship with Man Ray, Georges Bataille, Paul Eluard, Max Ernst, Andre Pieyre de Mandiargues, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Dorothea Tanning, Hans Bellmer, Meret Oppenheim, Leonora Carrington, Dora Maar and Salvador Dali, moved in the poet circles around de Sade, Bataille and Genet, with the designer Elsa Schiaparelli, the choreographer Balanchine and the Filmmakers Fellini and John Huston, worked in Monte Carlo in the 1940s, created his first illustrations in 1943 and turned to stage and costume design, worked in Villevaude in the post-war years, later based in Paris, regular summer stays in Corsica and Touraine, also worked as a writer in the 1970s,
