Kamares Ware Jug from Palace of Phaistos 2000 B.C.E Vase Minoan Ancient Greek Our vase is a copy of a jug which is exhibited on Archaeological Museum, Heraklion (Irakleio) Kamares ware is a distinctive type of Minoan pottery produced in Crete during the Minoan period, dating to MM IA (ca. 2100 BCE). By the LM IA period (ca. 1450), or the end of the First Palace Period, these wares decline in distribution and ?vitality?. They have traditionally been interpreted as a prestige artifact, possibly used as an elite table-ware. The designs of Kamares ware are typically executed in white, red and blue on a black field. Typical designs include abstract floral motifs. Surviving examples include ridged cups, small, round spouted jars, and large storage jars (pithoi), on which combinations of abstract curvilinear designs and stylized plant and marine motifs are painted in white and tones of red, orange, and yellow on black grounds. All returns must include all original items, original packaging, undamaged, unused and in re-saleable condition. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Shipping and handling fees are absolutely non-refundable. If 14 days have gone by since the delivery of your purchase, unfortunately we can?t offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging (outer and inner protections). In cases we are unable to identify you as the buyer, in order to complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
