Item description
THE AMERICANIZATION OF EMILY:
A Novel.
By William Bradford Huie.
New York: E.P. Dutton Co., Inc., 1959.
First edition, first printing.
"First edition" statement to the copyright page, 1959 printed to the title page, $3.50 to the jacket's flap.
Adapted to the 1964 Arthur Hiller directed film starring James Garner, Julie Andrews, and Melvyn Douglas. Garner and Andrews each claimed this film to be their personal favorite.
A novel drawn from the author's experiences as a Lieutenant and war correspondent in the Navy during WWII.
A decently presentable, vintage film and literature collectible.
Light age-toning to the cover shelf-edges as usual, bump and succeeding crimp to the lower spine, front corner tips bruised a bit, else very good, square, and firm in textured yellow boards with purple embossed titles to the spine; in a very good price-clipped dust jacket with fading and some discoloration to the spine.
The dust jacket will be placed in a clear, removable, protective sleeve, after scanning for this entry.
