Item description
SPINSTERS IN JEOPARDY
By Ngaio Marsh.
Boston: Little, Brown and Company, (1953).
First edition.
"First edition" statement to the copyright page, $3.00 to the jacket's flap.
The seventeenth mystery featuring Chief Superintendent Roderick Alleyn involves the Alleyns' vacation trip to the South of France, where they try to mix pleasure with detecting.
Former owner's name and 1974 date to the front end-paper, else very good plus in red linen with black embossed titles and rules to the spine; in a very good dust jacket illustrated by H. Lawrence Hoffman, with some rubbing to the front and rear panels and front flap fold, creases, nicks and tears to the shelf-edges; original printed $3.00 price still intact to the front inner flap.
Published in England under the title THE BRIDE OF DEATH.
The dust jacket will be placed in a clear, protective removable sleeve after photographing for this entry.
