Condition Details:
Vinyl plays nicely (play-graded). Cover has a few creases near edges; some scuffing (front/back); tiny surface abrasion near top-left on front; slight discoloration with darker discoloration spots on back. Inner-sleeve is original (Argo ads); two seam split. Spine is easy-to-read with little wear. Shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is mostly crisp, with signs of wear. Purple label. (Not a cut-out.)

About The Record:
Ramsey Lewis staked his claim to fame with The In Crowd, an instrumental version of Dobie Gray's Top 40 hit. He also was one of the first soul jazz icons of the mid-'60s, based on the strength of the sales of this recording. the album was recorded in 1965 at the Bohemian Caverns nightclub in Washington, D.C. The album also received a Grammy Award in 1966 for Best Instrumental Jazz Performance by an Individual or Group, and the title track single was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2009.
