Himes Son Meat Market, in Marienville, Forest County, Pennsylvania. On the porch are several individuals of all ages, most likely members of the Himes family. Reverse side is blank. Measures approximately 8.5 x 5.25 including mount. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. It is in very good condition, with edge and corner wear, and some spotting. Comments: The "Pennsylvania Roots" genealogy/history site profiling Z.S. Himes is at least temporarily inaccessible. However, an abbreviated synopsis tells us Z.S. Himes was a butcher in Marienville, Pennsylvania. He was born August 20, 1839 in Clarion Co., Pennsylvania, the son of Joseph and Abigail Ann (Space) Himes, natives and farmers of that county. Additional genealogical research indicates his full name was Zephaniah Space Himes. His birthdate was confirmed as August 20, 1839, and he died December 10, 1919 and is buried in the New Bethlehem Cemetery in Pennsylvania. His wife was Nancy Jane Rimer (1838-1893).
