These are stories that originally appeared in the Evening News of Newark, N.J. They were very popular with families of the time. The Publisher and Editor of the News granted permission to the author to publish the stories in this book. The permission was renewed in 1929.
Howard R. Garis (1873 - 1962) Howard Roger Garis was an American author of children's stories. He was best known for a series of books that featured the character of Uncle Wiggily Longears, an engaging elderly rabbit.
Platt Munk was an early publisher of children's books and known for their bright, long-lasting colors in the illustrations.
Condition is Excellent, especially for a Vintage find. Hardcover is brightly colored and shows only slight wear on corners. Pages are tight, with no frays or marks other than previous owners name, dated 1949 inside cover. Paper is aged, but no breaking.
