Very tight, name to the inside front cover, minute rubs to the lower spine edge, else near fine in a sewn binding with polished black linen-textured boards with gilt embossed titles to the spine, white headband and tail-band, upper page edges show some minor spots to a lovely soft-orchid-purple, deckle page fore-edges; in a very good plus dust jacket with artful orchid and detective art by S.A. Summit, with shelf-edge tears and with light rubs to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips, a half-inch tear and a short creased tear to the upper front panel's edge, and intermittent rubbing to the front spine fold; original printed "Book Club Edition" still intact to the front inner flap, and code 1716 to the rear flap.
