Item description
CROOKS' TOUR
By Members of the Mystery Writers of America.
Edited with a preface and a contributing story by Bruno Fischer.
New York: Dodd, Mead Company, 1953.
First edition, first printing.
A collection of twenty-two mystery stories involving illegal goings-on and murder in various integrated locales, including Mexico, Cape Cod, Los Angeles, Yugoslavia, Berlin, and more.
Some of the contributing authors are Georges Simenon, Frederic Brown, William P. McGivern, Day Keene, Margery Allingham, and more.
A well-preserved vintage first edition in the elusive dust jacket.
End-papers lightly foxed, a mystery author's Rockwell Kent illustrated bookplate to the inside front cover, light foxing to the upper page edges, else near fine, square, and tight in bold-black linen with bright yellow and orange embossed titles to the front cover and to the spine; in a very good plus to near fine dust jacket with some fading to the orange of the spine panel, and with minute rubs to the upper and lower spine edges and corner tips; original printed $2.95 price still intact to the front inner flap.
Octavo; 301 pages; plus preface.
Please note* the dust jacket will be placed in a clear, removable protective sleeve after photographing for this entry.
