The Epic is the third studio album by American jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington and his first to be released on a record label.[1] It was released on May 5, 2015, by the Brainfeeder record label. These L.A. (South Central) musicians are called The Next Step, or alternatively The West Coast Get Down, and they have been working together since they were teenagers in Inglewood. Their object is to move on from ?relic? status of traditional Jazz and make it new and dangerous again.
