Figures included are Louis's Mother, Marie-Louise D'Orleans, Queen of Spain, Madam de Brinvilliers, Madame de Montespan (and her poison scandal), Racine, Madame de Sevigne, Saint-Simon, and Madame de Maintenon. Former owner's vintage inked name to the front end-paper, corner tips lightly bumped, else firm, square and very good in lightly soiled plum linen with gilt embossed royal crown emblem to the front cover, and with gilt embossed titles to the spine, plum-and-yellow headband and tail-band; in a slightly soiled very good dust jacket, with a small cream stain spot and a short black smudge to the tanning spine panel, a chip and a short tear to the upper edge of the rear panel, short shelf-edge tears to the front panel, nicks and tears to the upper and lower spine edges; original printed $3.00 price still intact to the front inner flap.
