Item description
MASTER ROSALIND
by John Patricia Beatty
New York: William Morrow and Company, 1974.
First edition.
Near fine (tiny label ghost to front free endpaper), in age-toned dust jacket with edgewear, a few small dots of stain to rear panel, 3" and half-inch closed edge tears--reinforced with cello-tape to the reverse of the jacket. Much nicer than it sounds.
Juvenile historical fiction, wherein a young Elizabethan woman (with a Shakespearean name) dresses as a boy in order to join a theatrical company (and play female parts!), and who will ultimately meet the Queen herself. SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE for kids?
