For example, late model Macs 2011 or higher cannot use "older" OSX and pre Mid' 2012+ cannot use MacOS Mojave or Catalina. If you have a Macbook from 2009 - 2011, you cannot run Catalina. You are best running El Capitan to High Sierra without issues. (If you order Catalina or new kit, you will receive 16 GB since you need more than 8GB to create the OS recovery USB drive.) You will receive the USB drive kit with instructions on where to download from public internet link and then simply copy onto the drive. I am only formatting the drive with no data and making it *bootable* for you so you don't have to do that part. Very simple instructions that you can use a working Mac to download from public cloud and copy the file needed onto this USB and make it your Mac OS Recovery Drive. (Note: If you don't have a working Mac to download the OS, let us know we can help) You are paying for the USB drive, instructions, and my service of formatting the USB drive particularly to make it bootable for Macs. You simply need to download and copy the operating system software onto it. ** Troubleshooting ** I get messages all the time from people who encounter installation errors with the Apple OSX or MacOS Installer. Errors such as: - This copy of the install macOS application is corrupt or damaged, and can't be used to install MacOS. - OS X could not be installed on your computer, No packages were eligible for install, Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. This is because Apple made these errors to discourage people from installing outdated operating system. They want you to update to the latest or newest operating system. It does not mean the USB or software is corrupt. If the USB was really bad or corrupt, it would not even load at all and you won't even see the loading screen. This is all intentional by Apple!! Make sure the Mac isn't connected to the WIFI or network when doing the installation. My instructions come with the solution or link to the youtube video on how to get around this Apple annoyance. Or you could Google the solution easily. The trick is that you need to change the date to around the date when the operating system was released. When your actual date is newer than 2016, most of Apple's OS will give you errors to prevent you from installing outdated software. So before you fret or think the installer is bad.
