Six films starring the iconic screen actress Katharine Hepburn. In 'State of the Union' (1948), Hepburn plays the stranged wife of businessman Grant Matthews (Spencer Tracy), who gets back together with him so they can present a united front during his campaign for the White House. But how long can they keep the pretence going? In 'Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?' (1967), Tracy and Hepburn star as a well-meaning couple who have to confront their prejudice when their daughter plans on marrying a distinguished black doctor (Sidney Poitier). Based on the play by Tennessee Williams, 'Suddenly Last Summer' (1959) is a torrid melodrama about mental illness, incest and sexual repression. Elizabeth Taylor plays Catherine Holly, a young woman committed to an asylum after witnessing the lurid death of her beloved cousin when they were in Europe. Her aunt Violet Venable (Hepburn) wants surgeon Dr Cukrowicz (Montgomery Clift) to perform a lobotomy on Catherine, but as Cukrowicz bonds with the young woman, he uncovers a strange tale of incest and cannibalism. In the classic screwball comedy, 'Bringing Up Baby' (1938), Hepburn plays eccentric heiress Susan Vance, who accidentally steals a dinosaur bone from hapless zoology professor David Huxley (Cary Grant). Matters are further compicated by the introduction of Susan's pet leopard, Baby. In 'Rooster Cogburn' (1975), Hepburn stars as a missionary who teams up with a grizzled gunfighter (John Wayne) to avenge the death of her father. Finally, in 'Holiday' (1938), liberal-minded Johnny Case (Grant) wanders into a storm of trouble when he goes to meet his fianc?e's wealthy family. His prospective father-in-law is not too impressed with Johnny's plan to take a 'holiday' in the early years of his life. Johnny is nonplussed - all he wants is to enjoy himself and find a direction while he is still able. However, he finds unlikely allies in the form of his future sister-in-law, Linda (Hepburn), and her tipsy brother, Nick (Lew Ayres). Please note this DVD is region 2 and will only work in the following regions Japan, Europe, South Africa, the Middle East (including Egypt) and Greenland, Unless you have a multi-regional DVD Player.
