Adams Air Assault 9*, True Shot 16* 3 Wood, 20* 5 Wood, Tight Lies 24* Strong 7 Wood SET
The Original Adams Tight Line was called Air Assault. Designed with a low profile and a 3 part sole to reduce turf drag, the Air Assault line broke all of the club design rules, and many of the designs of today's clubs came directly from the Air Assault's.
Review: "I am able to keep my drives under control with adams air , I play on a very tight course where distance isn't the overwhelming factor. I now have the confidence everytime to take my wood out and let it fly"
Adams Tight Lies 24* Strong 7 Wood
Back in the early 1990s Adams looked at the fairway wood and decided they could make it more forgiving if the top section was at the bottom. So they turned the club upside down and the Tight Lies range of woods was created, which as the name implies were very good at getting the ball away from tight fairway lies.
Twenty years later the lies in the fairway have not improved but the Tight Lies range of Woods has been relaunched by the new look Adams that is now owned by TaylorMade. Indeed this is the first club from the Adams featuring their new logo.
The first thing I wanted to see when the Tight Lies arrived was to see if that distinctive sole had made it to the new design and I am pleased to say that it has. It may look a little odd but trust me that it works. The unique low centre section on the face drops the sweet spot and from good lies and bad you feel as though the clubface reaches down to pick up the ball. Even with a 16 degree 3-wood it was very easy to get the ball up and away from deep lies in the rough.
The other thing this design gives you is a lot of playability from a varitey of lies as the low centre portion on the sole is then cambered towards the heel and toe, much more so than any other club around. In its day the original Tight Lies and the Callaway War Bird sole mastered the cambered sole, so it is great to see this back.
Some of the high lofted 19 or 22 degree models could be perfect for getting the ball out of semi-rough or even low lipped fairway bunkers and this is probably where they club will appeal most. They are almost hybrid like in their size and performance so if you like using hybrids but prefer the style of fairways then this could be the wood for you.
Review: "Late last summer I bought an Adams Strong 5 for those 185 to 200 yard shots where I could only occasionally hit my #3 iron. This club is responsible for taking 5-6 strokes off my game. It is extremely easy to hit and everyone who has tried it has had the same success I have. I can highly recommend this club for those of you who need help in that range. I liked it so much I bought a #7 which I have not yet had a chance to use. Be cautious of look alikes. Buy THE Adams and you will not be disappointed."
The True Shots Brass Inertia Golf Club includes the 3 5 Woods, 16* 3 Wood, and 20* 5 Wood. These clubs are in good condition, clean, and have moderate wear. The shafts are lightweight graphite with a titanium-enhanced core, providing flexibility during swings.
This Used Woods SET is playable and in good condition. There are some small chips and scuffs in the heads from previous play. See all pictures for condition.
Grooves are in good condition. Some visible paint chipping on the heads.
Faces have some minimal visible marks, but will be very playable for many years.
Clubs have Regular Flex Graphite Shafts.
Grips have some age, but are playable.
