Item description
GOLDEN DAWN
By Peter B. Kyne
New York: Cosmopolitan Book Corporation, 1930.
First edition.
Contemporary dated gift inscription to the front endpaper, else a near fine, sharp copy in dark green linen with yellow embossed titles to the front cover and to the spine; in an about very good, illustrated dust jacket with a piece and strip missing from the lower front panel and front flap, and chipping to the lower spine and along the upper rear panel.
Mr. Gatlin and family, police detectives, a young woman with amnesia, a police machine gunner, and a doctor, are all involved in this character driven, crimes and theft mystery that includes plenty of early investigative crime file searching, photographs, and fingerprints in San Francisco and the West.
Kyne, a prolific San Francisco novelist and writer/creator of the Cappy Ricks series, had more than 100 of his works adapted to silent and talkie films including THE THREE GODFATHERS.
