Brand new factory sealed dvd on the TGG Direct label which uses good sourceprints licensed by the studio but have no frills. The case erroneously states in color which it is not. The movie mixes new Black White footage with old B W film clips and takes place in the '40s. Rigby Reardon (Martin) is a low-rent detective sitting in his office, waiting for something to happen. That something happens when the voluptious Juliet Forrest (Ward) arrives in his office and faints dead away at the sight of a newspaper that reports on her father's death in a car accident. Juliet is convinced that her father was murdered and offers Rigby $200 to investigate. Upon searching Dr. Forrest's office, he comes upon a list of names under two headings "Friends of Carlotta" and "Enemies of Carlotta". As the two delve deeper into the mystery and it's requisite red herrings, they encounter an 'exterminator', Juliet's surly Nazi butler, Field Marshal Von Kluck (Carl Reiner) and an overly helpful Mexican friend. In a succession of classic intercut clips, Reardon follows a complex maze of clues with a little help from his 'friends', Humphrey Bogart, Ray Milland, Barbara Stanwyck, Burt Lancaster, Kirk Douglas, Bette Davis, Lana Turner, Joan Crawford and more!
