Item description
In Spanish. Short description: Maximo Gomez. Diario de Campana del Mayor General Maximo Gomez. Edition Homenaje al cumplirse el 104 Aniversario del natalicio del General Maximo Gomez Noviembre 18 de 1940, Habana, 1940-[1941]. Autograph of Maximo Gomez Baez, known as "El Generalisimo". He was a Dominican soldier in the Ten Years' War and the commander-in-chief of the Cuban revolutionary forces during the Cuban War of Independence. In 1888, he settled again in the Dominican Republic, where Marti traveled in March 1895 to sign the historic Monte Cristi Manifesto together with Gomez. At the current border between Las Villas and Matanzas, Gomez carried out the famous "Lazo de la Invasion" (Lasso of the Invasion). When the Assembly of the Cerro was created as the Temporary Government, Gomez became a part of it. Although there were many great Cuban patriots, when the trilogy of key figures in the War of Independence is mentioned, Maximo Gomez stands alongside Jose Marti and Antonio Maceo. In 1979, the Cuban government created the Order of Maximo Gomez. Please feel free to contact us for a detailed description of the copies available. SKUZLO000378
