This large, stately, deciduous tree native to the eastern North America will grow rapidly to 60-100 foot tall and 30-50 foot wide. This easy care tree will put on a spectacular showing of spring blooms in May to June that resemble yellow/orange tulips. The bright bluish-green leaves turn a golden yellow color in the fall. Makes a great shade Tree, street tree or flowering tree. Just do not plant close to building or other plants and trees as this tree will grow rapidly and crowd out neighboring trees. A major timber tree, tulip trees are used for furniture, plywood, paper pulp and lumber. It is the state tree of Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana. Will grow in USDA zones 4-9.
