Item description
Catalog Number: SAH-U-6044
Condition Details:
8-page illustrated booklet of film credits attached to inner-gate. Import from UK. Vinyl plays nicely, with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Gate-fold cover looks great, a few creases near edges; light scuffing (front/back); small tear on back at bottom right. Gloss surface "peeling" in a few places along front edges. Inner-gate is slightly discolored. Inner-sleeve is original (poly-lined Stereophonic paper). Spine has no text and mild wear. Little shelf-wear along top-edge. slightly more wear along bottom edge and corners. Opening (which is inside gate-fold) is crisp with signs of light use. (Not a cut-out.)

About The Record:
The Five Pennies, by Louis Armstrong and Danny Kaye, was the soundtrack for the semi-biographical musical film of the same name. Showcasing Kaye as jazz cornet player and bandleader Loring Red Nichols, other cast members include Barbara Bel Geddes, Louis Armstrong, Harry Guardino, Bob Crosby, Bobby Troup, Susan Gordon, and Tuesday Weld. The film was directed by Melville Shavelson. The real Red Nichols recorded all of Kaye's cornet playing for the film soundtrack. The film received four Oscar nominations for Best Musical Scoring, Best Original Song, Best Cinematography, and Best Costumes.
