Item description
SWEET ADELAIDE
by Julian Symons
New York: Harper Row, Publishers, (1980).
First American edition, first printing; Advance Uncorrected Proof.
SIGNED to the front cover by the three-time Edgar Award Winning mystery author Stanley Ellin, (a frequently solicited reviewer).
Ellin had several of his novels adapted to films including the 1951 Noir film 'The Big Night' that Mr. Ellin co-wrote with director Joseph Losey, starring John Barrymore and Preston Foster.
This Victorian set mystery novel is loosely based on the real Adelaide Bartlett murder case.
Spine slightly slanted, mild printing-ink soils to covers, else very good in red stiff-card wraps with printed black titles and reviewers' information to the front cover.
