Cover looks good, moderate scuffing and discoloration spots (front/back); "Made in the U.K." sticker on front and area of sticker residue at top right. Some surface abrasion on back at bottom right. Inner-sleeve is original (plastic). Three edges are without text and show mild wear; a little wrinkling on back opening edge. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and tiny divots. (Not a cut-out.) Tracks: Innocence (The Guilt Mix) No Victims (Guitar Heroes Mix) Clubland About The Record: The deceptively savage Innocence kicks off the emotional whirlwind of 1989's masterful Kite in a breezily subversive manner, setting a lyric of immense emotional violence to an upbeat and bouncy tune with an icily ironic singalong chorus. It's unclear who the singer is addressing (she could be talking to a mirror, for that matter), but the lyrics are so plainly mean-spirited that even Elvis Costello circa 1978 would feel sorry for her victim. The tune, co-written with ex-Hitmen singer Pete Glenister (who was also working with Alison Moyet around this time), has a certain music hall quality that Steve Lillywhite's typically over the top production emphasizes with a trilling string section and strategically-placed mandolins.
