MOUNTAIN TROOPERS!
The Story of the Tenth Mountain Division
By Curtis W. Caswit
New York: Thomas Y. Crowell Company, (1972).
First edition, first printing.
Two tiny dots of pale stain to
fore-edge, else fine, in turquoise cloth with black spine titling; in a
somewhat age-darkened dust jacket that shows some light edgewear.
Wraparound jacket art by Rus Anderson.
Illustrated with photographs.
Vigorous account of one of the most unusual units in the US Army during
WWII, who, when they went into combat in the mountains of Italy in 1944,
were able to break through the German "Gothic Line" and speed the end
of the war in Europe.
Octavo.
150 pages; indexed.
