Item description
A 1970s Royal Doulton large "Falstaff" character jug. The back of the jug has John Falstaff in plain script. A Royal Doulton mark, "Falstaff", the Doulton design, or D number, 6287, copyright date, and Doulton Co Limited are on the bottom of the jug. The "Falstaff" jug was designed by Harry Fenton as part of the Characters from Literature series and was issued from 1950 - 1999. The comic character, Sir John Falstaff, appears in three Shakespeare plays and is eulogized in a fourth. The jug is 6.25" (15.87 cm) tall.
The "Falstaff" jug is in very good condition. It is free of nicks, cracks, or crazing.
