Item description
Shapes of Clay Stan Langtwait Endangered Species Bald Eagle Plaque
Handmade Original art... "SHAPES of
CLAY" by artist STAN LANGTWAIT.. Scene is a Native American on his
Pinto pony, holding a spear/lance in his hand. Made with Mt. St.
Helens Ash.. blended with natural unrefined clays and commercial pottery
clays... to form the craggy look of volcanic lava and capture the
timeless mystique of the Northwest mountains. Method: A
combination of two ancient techniques, inlay and pressing... The subtle
differences in color, size and texture express the unique identity of
each piece. Color: The subtle color patterns result from
foreign matter in the blending of clays and ash and their varying
degrees of hardness.
No two patterns are exactly alike.
Approx 7 1/4" Signed
