Daryl Hall and John Oates found worldwide acceptance for their own brand of blue eyed soul thanks to such hits as Maneater, Rich Girl and Out of Touch. Prior to their chart breakthrough in 1974 however, Hall Oates were largely influenced by The Beatles, as these recordings prove. Whilst their partnership had yet to fully develop, there are plenty of signs of the future greatness that would visit them, both as vocalists and songwriters.
