First edition (stated).
Inked price to the upper corner of the front endpaper with ink date "1963" in an unknown hand, else near fine in gilt-stamped grey cloth; in a very good dust jacket with a faded spine, and a chip missing from the upper rear panel.
Actress Mary Astor's copy of this massive novel that was the source for the Delmer Davies directed film released in 1964. Youngblood Hawke was to be Mary Astor's penultimate film in which she played the character of Irene Perry. Later in 1964 she was in her last film, Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte with her friend Bette Davis.
