Thank you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DICK CRISPO American (1945 - ) Dick Crispo, born in New York City on January 13, 1945, has lived in the Monterey Peninsula area since 1955. A multi award winning artist, Crispo tudied at the Carmel Art Institute under John Cunningham Sam Colburn. He has also studied at the Monterey Peninsula College, Hartnell College in Salinas, and UCSD University of California, Santa Cruz. Known for his abstract-like figurative work as well as landscapes, Crispo has also produced over 60 murals throughout the United States. His most important work may be the near mile long mural at the Soledad State Prison in Soledad, California. He paints both indoors, and in "plein air", yet he does not see himself as a traditional plein air painter. In addition, Crispo has been an instructor at the Carmel Adult Art School and many other venues in and around the Monterey area. Crispo has been a contributing artist member of the Carmel Art Association since 1969, and has also served on its' Board of Directors. He is a member of the Artists Equity, Art Workers United, and the Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation. His works have been exhibited in over 73 one man shows including at the Monterey Peninsula Museum of Art in 1997, the Oakland Museum of Art, the Harrison Memorial Library in Carmel, the Library of Congress, the Print Club of Philadelphia, the Museum of Western Art, Tokyo, and the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City. -------------------------------------------------------- Email or Text any Questions.....thank you.
