Benjamin (1924-2009) aka "Cien" Etta. Estacien "Etta" J. Benjamin, a Mid-Century abstract impressionist artist who, with her husband opened their own gart gallery. Thye called it "Hillside House of Originals". Over the years it became a well known a respected framing and art gallery in Los Angeles. The gallery gave Etta experience with materials, and contact with well known artists. Her paintings show immense growth during this phase of her career. In later years much of her work fell into obscurity, at least in part because of the way she signed her paintings. Most pieces are typically signed either "Cien" or "Etta" and were largely painted from 1950-1970. Within the last decade however, her work has grown in popularity.
