Blanch's first novel is set in British India in the 1850s and filled with descriptions of the area--and heavily spiced with wit and humor.
Lower corner tips lightly bumped, else near fine and tight in fresh bright orange linen over cranberry boards with blind embossed titles to the front cover and with gilt embossed titles and decorations to the spine, upper page edges cranberry, autumn-auburn end-papers; in a very nearly fine dust jacket with very mild crimps to the lower corner tips, with photograph of Lesley Blanch to the rear panel; original printed $4.50 price still intact to the front inner flap.
