Item description
#21 in the series. Author is Margaret Sutton. John Axe Format V.
Grosset and Dunlap. Copyright 1950. This is a first edition, printed in 1950.
Book is solid red with small haunted house picture. (Tweed books are later printings, starting with 1952.) Plain, not wartime, paper. Maroon haunted house endpapers. No tracking or loose pages, but a nice solid spine. Some spots on the side page block. Maroon top page block. Penciled number and price on upper right corner of front free endpaper.
Dust jacket is pretty good but does have edgewear, small imperfections and a closed tear at the bottom of the rear. Dust jacket spine has chipping.
Front flap and internal booklist list to itself. Back flap lists to Beverly Gray's Vacation ((1949). Rear of jacket lists to Nancy Drew The Secret of the Wooden Lady (1950).
