New York: Cupples Leon Company, Publishers, (1934).
First edition.

Pale tanning to the endpapers, bits of speckling (foxing) to the page fore-edges, else a near fine, bright copy; in a near fine dust jacket with minor shelf wear.
Dust jacket illustration (by H. Leeming) of a player in white preparing to swing at a pitched ball, with a red diamond background, all surrounded in blue with titles in white. The rear panel and jacket flaps only lists to 1934 titles.
According to Mattson Davis this copy is the first edition.

author of various children's adventure and mystery novels during the late 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
"Boy whose father's death left the family in straitened circumstances rescues a girl and wins a scholarship to Clarkville [a Connecticut prep school] where he must grind at the books to prepare for a West Point entrance exam. He is eventually persuaded to go out for baseball and proves a star"--McCue.
For protection the dust jacket has been placed in a new clear (easily removable) Brodart sleeve.
