Brown paper decorated with green holly and vines with red hearts and holly berries; with a gilt border and star.
A Christmas poem by Joaquin Miller's daughter with her printed signature.
A nearly fine greeting created on stiff brown craft paper.

This is one of the many items from a family related collection of Joaquin Miller material we acquired many decades ago at auction.
Joaquin Miller (Cincinnatus Heine Miller) 1837-1913 was a Western poet, author and frontiersman.
He was nicknamed the "Poet of the Sierras".
His other various colorful occupations included being a miner, lawyer, newspaperman, Pony Express rider, and horse thief.
He associated with Ambrose Bierce, Bret Harte, Charles Warren Stoddard, Ina Coolbrith, and actress Adah Isaacs Menken.
