Item description
THE LORELEI
by Lawrence Bachmann
London: Collins, 1957.
First edition, first printing.
Published later in the USA by the Doubleday Crime Club.
Warmly inscribed
and SIGNED by the author/screenwriter to the front endpaper.
Faint tan offsetting to endpapers, else very close to fine, in pebbled blue boards with gilt spine titles; in a near fine dust jacket; original '13s. 6d. net' printed price still intact to the front inner flap.
Suspenseful novel set on the Rhine
among the men and women who for generations have navigated the river
barges through Holland, Germany, France, and Switzerland.
Filmed in 1959
from a screenplay by Bachmann.
A significant film and an important author/script-writer.
Elusive in a nice first edition with dust jacket, and especially elusive SIGNED!
