Item description
12inch x 18inch Poster Cover of the November 1929 issue of Hugo Gernsback's pulp science fiction magazine Science Wonder Stories, drawn by notable pulp cover artist Frank R. Paul. This is claimed to be one of the first depictions of a "flying saucer". Saucer-shaped aircraft or spacecraft like this depicted in the fantasy artwork of 1930s pulp science fiction magazines have been credited as responsible for the rash of "flying saucer" sightings beginning in 1948. Frank Rudolph Paul (April 18, 1884 ? June 29, 1963) was an American illustrator of pulp magazines in the science fiction field. There is a border around the image. The image size is correct.
