Happy holidays to all of our buyers and sellers! With sales increasing by almost 100% here over the last three months, we certainly have plenty to celebrate this holiday season. That said, while we've been thrilled with our progress capturing the hearts of so many buyers, we remain committed to solidifying Bonanza's position as the best destination to visit when browsing for merchandise that is better than ordinary.
To that end, we will later today be updating booths so that buyers no longer need to click a button every time they reach the end of a page. Instead, when they hit the end of a page, they will see something like this:
Why make this change now? It's all about keeping the buyer locked into the browsing experience. It was about a year ago that we moved item search from click-based pagination to automatic pagination. We immediately saw the number of buyers who reached page two jump. Currently, about 45% of buyers make it to page 2 in search, vs 15% of buyers that make it to page 2 of a booth. The rationale here is that the less distraction to the buyer, the more engrossed they can become in the hunt.
After this change is in place, we will be laying relatively low for the next month as the critical holiday shopping season plays out. Following the peak season, we will continue on our path to building the most browsable marketplace by bolstering our buyers' ability to find similar (or dissimilar) items from wherever they happen to be browsing, whether it's an item page, a booth, search results, or hand picked lists. The end result should be the same: help the buyer stumble into something that delights them, matching their tastes perfectly.
In other news, our eBay and Google Shopping integrations continue to pay huge dividends for the sellers that use them. Traffic from both has been the primary driver of the aforementioned growth explosion we've seen. It's like 2008 all over again -- rapid growth, an emphasis on everything but the ordinary, and building innovative experiences that other marketplaces can't. While the best is still to come, I'd say this is a pretty darned great time to be Bonanzling.

Thanks for the notification.
I can see that now, and I Love It! Thanks!!
I like it! BTW, Christmas shopping started in October. One of my biggest months so far this year.
Great improvement.
Happy Holidays! Great news on the increased sales. Thanks!
Wonderful news! Thanks so much for the update.
This is great! I noticed it in my booth a little earlier. Thank you for the continued improvements. I want to wish everyone behind the scenes at Bonanza has a
“Happy Thanksgiving”
I actually find the automatic pagination to be annoying, but if you say it will help increase booth views, I’m willing to give it a try. I’m just glad that y’all will be laying low for the holiday season because any change just before or during that time has the potential to mess things up for sellers. Soooo, thanks and…
Happy Holidays!
Even I have seen an increase in sales, and I sell stuff that doesn’t sell well here! Three sales in the last 2 days (2 buyers)-whoopee, I hope for even more sales!
Thanks and happy Thanksgiving to the boyz & girlz!!
Marilyn
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
With that said, i only average one sale a month.
Whoa, we need to change that! First go here: http://www.bonanza.com/site_help/booths_setup/why_no_sales?title=Increase+Your+Sales+Volume
That should get you going in the right direction
That’s great news on the increase in sales here on Bonanza!
My only worry about having all the listings on one page (reality wise it is one page) is that sometimes in search in general on Bonanza, it gets hung up. I’m hoping that it does not happen in our booths. It more so happens when I use the bar and grab a hold of it to go down but it also happens when I use the scroll tool on my mouse, too.
So, I’m sure you all know this and are working on something to keep it from happening (the wheel thing going round and round tends to happen).
Otherwise, Bonanza rocks!!!
Thanks.
In our tests that was not the case, even with booths that had thousands of items. I am thinking this is due to the amount of items on our main search but that is just a guess.
Edited 11/16/2012 to clarify booth search vs main search: Jordan has told me today that our booth search is so darn fast because it uses a different approach than our main search. The good news is that we are in the process of investigating the addition of the same approach to main search. Good times!
its cool and works great!

Love it
Thanks Mark
I just took a look through my booth at the one page lol, and it all comes up pretty fast!!
Editing to add: I was just in my booth and I did not see an arrow for “back to the top” that I could click on once I made my way to the very bottom. Also, I know I could do this from the My Bonanza page, but I wanted to click on the Blog link at the bottom of the page and it took me a while to be able to get down to the bottom of the page to click on it. Is there any way we could get down to the bottom of the page any faster if we want to? Thanks again.
Okay, now I see the back to the top, which is in the divider grayed out area between pages, maybe also put one down at the very bottom of the page to go back up.
I absolutely hate that you have done this. When I search and try to browse all the items, it freezes up about 10 pages down. Now you have done it to the booths. Makes it VERY hard to shop. I talked to a lady today (in a real store) and she still has dial up. I have DSL. NOT everyone has broadband.
Booth pages load much faster than regular search because the system does not have to take 4 million items into consideration. Hopefully that is the case for you as well.

YooWhoo Bill, Mark will I still be able to custom sort? I love this and it works fine for me but TheHotAttic does have a point about slower connections. Thanks boyz and Happy Thanksgiving.
You will still be able to custom sort
100% of 0 is still zero. The only sales I have had are from buyers that I have ‘encouraged’ away from my ebay store. Most of them, no, all of them have said that they have never heard of bonanza. Instead of lying low, how about a little promo out there to the general public? Let them know there are alternatives to ebay. A little advertising could help a lot.
Did you know that Bonanza.com was mentioned on national TV today on the Anderson Cooper show? And the type of mention we received is the type of advertising you cannot buy, you can only earn it by creating a great place for sellers to call home. So we are definitely always looking for out of the box ways to advertise and we are also vested in giving sellers choices on promoting their business (check out our new Google Advertising platform). YAY BONANZA!!!!! Mark I saw that on Twitter from #Bonanzamarket a little earlier!! So exciting for Bonanza!!! Though I couldn’t see the link that was sent to me on my phone :/
I love this new feature!
But what I really is a modification that shows the full item title in the booth display.
A lot of apparel sellers like myself put the garment size right at the end so that means that shoppers have to click on the item before knowing what size it is, which must be a pain. And there is no list view option. My only workaround is to set up booth categories by size but it’s not a great fix.
Christmas present please?
This is a great improvement! More of our items will be viewed since the shopper doesn’t have to manually change pages. You get two thumbs up from me!
I really like this.
Well done Bonz!!! Have been browsing several booths and no problems with loading. And right now, I’m on an older tablet that isn’t exactly known for speed. LOL. This new feature will speed up my own shopping here.
Marge
I like the idea of this but I found a problem with it. While in my booth I wanted to click on the “blog” on the bottom of the screen and every time I went to click on it the page updated and I had to scroll down to the bottom again. I guess if your a fast scroller and clicker it wouldn’t be a problem. I had to go back to the bonz main page to get to the blog.
Thanks Casper. I will be sure to send a request to the programming team to investigate this.
On first blush, this change looks pretty good. I think it is a good enhancement and if it translates into more buyers looking past a booth’s first page it’s great. Thank you!
I do have a question though about the future enhancements mentioned in your blog, specifically:
“Following the peak season, we will continue on our path to building the most browsable marketplace by bolstering our buyers’ ability to find similar (or dissimilar) items from wherever they happen to be browsing, whether it’s an item page, a booth, search results, or hand picked lists.”
What will be the impact of the buyer’s experience when he/she is has come to my booth (no matter the path of how the buyer got to my booth) and is looking at a specific item listing or my booth in general? Will other sellers’ items (similar and dissimilar) somehow be shown to the buyer while viewing my item/booth? I appreciate any input you can provide. Thank you.

Don’t scare me AdventuresandHobbies lol.
It seems like I no sooner read the blog, and out came the new look – and I like it. It does seem as though buyers will be able to look beyond the first page. I like that no matter where they click, they can stay in the booth. Keep up the good work, guys & gals!
well I hope this helps. I signed up for the google advertising and what few sales I had here went away. I have done all the seo stuff etc etc and the only sale I have had was from an outside source that I sent to my booth for ease of customizing and shipping.
:-)
I must admit that I also find this very frustrating. If I move the slider down the page too fast I get nothing but blank pics and have to wait for Bonanza to catch up to my computer… then it bounces around and I’m not sure where I left off so have to scroll back up and try to do a mental GPS and recalculate. If I were a customer I would be turned off I’m afraid :(
The way around that is to move very very slowly or repeatedly hit the page down button…. but I doubt that most people would think to do that.
Glad to hear that sales are up though
Very easy to use, thank you.
I like this change!! I think a lot of buyers never flick the page when it comes to the end, now they dont have to. It keeps them interested
My page is taking too long to load. People will leave thinking that’s the end. I don’t like it. Making the pages twice as long would be better.
I do like this, but there is one thing about it I wish you would change. As you click on an item to view the decriptive page, then go back to the booth, it is annoying to be returned to the first page instead of being able to pick up where you left off. For large booths, if a customer is near the last page, looks at an item, is returned to page 1 and has to scroll through everything again, they are going to become frustrated.
That would be annoying for sure. In our testing we were taken back to the specific item. Can you please send us a report to [email protected] letting us know the browser type you are using and the booth you are viewing? That way we can reproduce and correct the trouble you are having.
Who cares? One sale a month justifies NOTHING! Even a silver membership ain’t done nuttin. Come on Bonanz, kick it into gear!
You might want to remove the ALL CAPS from your titles (Google no likey). Secondly we have an advertising platform that many sellers are having a lot of success with right now. I would recommend that you give that a try (Sell on Bonanza > Advertise your items). Here is also a link to a page that we update often about how to put yourself in a better position to increase your sales: http://www.bonanza.com/site_help/booths_setup/why_no_sales?title=Increase+Your+Sales+Volume
Imagine my joy when I went to batch editor to add shipping and attributes to new items only to see them already done! But then…. of 7 items I had to make a change to all of them because they had pre-populated with the wrong information i.e. mpn numbers, color, material etc- any thoughts on that? Fortunately it was “only” 7 but what if…..?
Not too sure gearseller2, but if you contact us at support with all of the details we would be happy to have a look.
