Item description

Vintage High School Debate Team Award Pin Brooch Gold Tone 1930s Toga Middle or High School Debating Class Roman Figure in Draped Robe Miniature Tiny ” Diameter Academic Activity Students Rollover Clasp This is a vintage Debate pin that belonged to my Father. He was born in 1919 so I would imagine he was debating while in Middle or High School which would date this to the 1930s. The pin is very tiny, only ” in diameter so please look at the size next to the quarter in the photos. The figure on the pin looks great when viewed with normal vision. It is not the most appealing figure when magnified; in fact it reminds me of a skeleton face. The man is dressed in a Roman style Toga and the word “Debate” is on the edge of the circle. The pin is a gold tone metal. It is unsigned, but I have seen the same figure on various Debate charms or pendants made by Balfour. I have not found one in a pin style anywhere on the Internet. This pin is in great vintage condition with some age and patina, as you can see by the enlarged photographs. The roll over clasp closure works fine and is secure. There is darkening where the pin was originally attached on the back. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe. This would be perfect for anyone who collects vintage pins. If you know someone who enjoys a good debate, this would be a fun gift for them. This will be sent 1st Class Mail with Tracking/Delivery Confirmation.
