DESCRIPTION: This is a 1980s mother and baby figurine. The colors are muted tans and browns with white "ears". The incised marks on the bottom identify the maker as COAD, a Peruvian maker that produced a lot of mother and baby figurines from different species. Although this figurine is small, the workmanship is outstanding.
SIZE: This figurine is 2 1/4" tall.
BACKGROUND: This is one of a number of figurines I recently bought from the estate of a neighbor who had several thousand figurines from many different makers. One of her collections was owls in various materials.
