This is a vintage Weiss insect, fly or bug brooch or pin. The body is a gold tone metal with black and white enameling for the body and the wings. The eyes are solid milk white faceted stones. It measures approximately 1 ¾ inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide. It is stamped on the back ©WEISS.  

It is in nice vintage condition with some slight enamel wear as you can see by the enlarged photographs. I don't know if the enamel is all original, it looks as if it might have been touched up with the white enamel over the years. Weiss began in 1942 and closed in 1971.

This would be a fun and whimsical addition to your collection of vintage and figural jewelry. It would also make a wonderful gift for someone pursuing a career in Entomology. It would make a great conversation piece.
