Item description for Fighting Gamecock Rooster Silver Tone Pendant Brooch Pin USC Carolina

This is a silvertoned Rooster Pendant & Brooch or Pin. The brooch is a figural silver Fighting Gamecock or Cockerel. This type of rooster is known for its spirit and courage and was used in cockfights. This Fighting Gamecock is the official nickname and mascot of the University of South Carolina. The mascot’s name is “Cocky”. The brooch also has a large loop or bail so it can be worn with a chain or a ribbon as a necklace (The chain in the photo is not included). It is not signed. It measures approximately 1 ¾ inches long and is 1 ½ inches tall. It is a substantial brooch and is extremely well made.

It is in great vintage pre-owned condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is a tiny spot where the silver finish is darker, but you have to look hard to find it. I highlighted it with an arrow in the photo, it may have been touched up at one time. It is a gorgeous brooch and looks even better in person than when it is magnified.
