Lovely ornamental pear tree with good spring flowering display, mid-green summer foliage. It changes to reds and purples in autumn. Good for parks, gardens as well as streets and public areas.
Adaptable to a wide range of site conditions, coastal areas and air pollution. Best in full sun or semi shade.
Small fruit (~15 mm) edible (raw or cooked). The dried leaves are used to make tea.
