Filigree Silvertone Round

This is a great vintage figural fish necklace. The necklace has beads made of glass, silver tone metal and wooden fish charms. There are three large fish charms and two small fish charms all carved out of wood.  There are four wood charms that remind me of Dominoes, they are black with white dots. Interspersed on the cord are a number of open work silver balls and plain silver balls. These look like the ball beads you see on the Mexican wedding necklaces, this may have been made in Mexico, but that is just a guess. I don't know what the silver metal is made of. There are two black charms that appear to be carved with a design on the top, but I can’t figure out the design or what they are made from. They are either glass or a resin type material. There are also black and white glass beads. The necklace measures approximately 22 inches in length. The beads and charms are all strung on a cord, which closes with an adjustable loop and knot (see photo).

The necklace is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. Each of the fish was hand crafted so they are not exactly the same. One has lighter white color in the carved out areas than the other two. Please look at the photos as they are part of the description and show the details better than I can describe. The placement of the bottom small fish seems a little off to me and I would probably move it over, (but that is just my opinion), as I like a more symmetrical look.
This would be perfect for anyone who loves fish. This necklace will be a great addition to your collection of figural jewelry and fun to wear to any event. It would add that tropical or nautical look to any outfit for your next cruise, beach vacation or summer Luau. It will work with that little black dress for an elegant evening out, or with your favorite pair of jeans.
