Estate item  of Very Rare 75+ year old, 'Columbia Pictures' Film Campaign Annual Pressbook/Yearbook.

Columbia published annual yearbooks advertising the upcoming films and plays for the industry. The pressbook/yearbook is full of colorful scenes depicting 32 productions of 1934-1935 and more, entitled 'COLUMBIA MARCHES ON' 1934-1935. Book is hardbound in gold, with gold/black embossed like overlay permanently affixed to front with the Columbia logo and date; and solid gold overlay on back.

A sample of the production titles include: One Night of Love, That's Gratitude, $25 An Hour, A Feather in Her Hat, Carnival (see photo#5), Lady of New York, The Girlfriend, Sure Fire, Broadway Bill, Mistaken Identity, The Black Room Mystery, White Lies. Also has pages with photos of the personalities such as Frank Capra, Fan Wray, Boris Karloff,  Directors & Authors, Short Series, Radio City, as well as photo pages of Columbia's staff.

Book measures approx. 11" x 14". What a great addition to a collection of history and Hollywood.

Book conceived by George Brown, Director of Advertising & Publicity.
Art Work supervised by Frank Spicker, Art Director

Book is in good condition for it's 75+ years.

Front: The embossed like covering is peeling up on left edge almost halfway down and approx. 1-1/2"-2" in, which created a tear/slit. It is slightly peeling up towards the bottom near another smaller slit near bottom left edge as shown in 1st photo (could possibly be glued down/restored...we will leave that for the new owner). Cover's edge and corners have the normal wear for it's age.

Back: Back has scratches and mars, edge of gold is popped up slightly on edge in the middle on spine side, as shown in 2nd photo.

Inside: Inside front gold protective page has had one corner cut out and is seperated almost 3/4's way down and needs to be taped or glued back in place (as shown photo #3 and #4). Does not detract from the inside pages. Pages are bound and intact, and still show brilliant color. There is only one page that appears to have stuck slightly together at one time and has a thin layer of paper from the opposite page on it (could possibly be seperated and maybe restored on the facing page where it belongs or totally removed...see the small white spot on next to last photo-next to photograph of Robinson and opposite page near writing-see last photo). Since this book is very rare and an antique we have not tried to fix the page or mess with the book leaving it in it's original condition. The book is overall an excellent find with great art work and production reviews...a real movie buff collector's item.
